is an Associate Professor of Neurology at Ain Shams University with over 17 years of dedicated experience in stroke and vascular neurology and neuromodulation. Currently serves as Co-Director of the Ain Shams University Stroke Center – Hany Aref Unit, overseeing comprehensive stroke care. Holds an MD and PhD in Neurology (Ain Shams University, 2015) and an MS in Neuropsychiatry (2010). Seeking a Full Professor in Neurology by early 2026. Active member of the World Stroke Organization (WSO), graduate of Future Stroke Leaders Program, Cohort 2 (WSO-FL), member of European Academy of Neurology (EAN), African Stroke Organization (ASO), and Movement Disorders Society (MDS). Served as the General Secretary for the 2nd Middle East and North Africa Vascular and Interventional Neurology Masterclass (MENA-VINM) in 2025, a WSO-endorsed 3-day event featuring live angio-suite transmissions and diverse scientific presentations. Dr. Roushdy was formerly the director of the Ain Shams University Specialized Hospital's Stroke Unit (2021-2023). He was instrumental in the accreditation of the two Ain Shams University stroke units by the German Stroke Society (LGA) in 2019, enhancing international recognition and quality standards. He authored 57 Scopus-indexed publications primarily in stroke, within the last 8 years. Co-authored a recent WSO statement on prehospital stroke care in low and middle-income countries and a book chapter on regional stroke burden in LMICs. Actively involved in clinical trials, including participation in ENRICH-AF and ongoing collaboration in ASPERA studies. He led training initiatives for residents and junior physicians in stroke management, thrombolysis, and patient care via simulation and interactive methodologies, reaching professionals in Iraq, Jordan, and Libya (Angels Initiative). Pioneered telemedicine-based training for colleagues in Somalia ("Treat and Teach" initiative). Besides establishing and managing telecommunication-based stroke case management with Kafr El Sheikh General Hospital (134 km from Cairo), extending specialized care to remote regions. Dr. Roushdy is the local Coordinator for the SITS (EGASU) and RESQ databases at Ain Shams University Hospitals' Stroke Unit, ensuring data integrity and facilitating international recognition through performance awards. On the mentorship aspect, he supervised 12 postgraduate theses (3 MD, 9 Master's) since 2015, predominantly in vascular neurology.
